1 MINUTE READ
- Welcome to the blog! As a Regina resident for over a decade now I decided to kick things off with something easy, a short list of Why I Love Regina. If you’re new here I hope this list of faves will help bring you up to speed. If you’ve lived here your whole life, feel free to just skim along and nod.
Small city, big town feel
You’ll see many familiar faces for a centre this size (225,000+ at last count), not to mention a guaranteed max 20 minute drive to any corner of the city. Just avoid Arcola Ave. at rush hour.
Passion for our own
We have a remarkable loyalty to our sports teams, music scene and home grown businesses. If you’re selling “SK Made”, we’re buying.
Revitalization of downtown
A major investment in the City Square Plaza in 2011 has really seen the core of our city take off. It is now host to a flourishing farmers market, festivals, food trucks and outdoor skating at Victoria Park every winter.
Further to the revitalization of downtown we have experienced a boom in the local restaurant scene. A city that was once filled with chain restaurants now offers a plethora of local options from many different ethnicities.
I couldn’t go a whole post without mentioning our sunsets. If you don’t believe me, take a drive at dusk to Harbour Landing on a clear night and your eyes will be opened (don’t forget your camera). Saskatchewan really is the Land of the Living Skies.
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading! And if you have anything to add, feel free to comment below. ✌🏽
